General Information on ICEC 2001

Electronic Commerce is one of the most challenging new developments - both intellectually and commercially - that will shape our future global evolution. The International Center for Electronic Commerce is devoted to support research and general development of the area, one of its main instruments being the organization of annual conferences.

ICEC 2001 in Vienna is the first of the ICEC conferences that takes place in Europe, underlining the global character of the EC-research and business community. Research papers of all areas related to electronic commerce and electronic government have been invited. In particular, papers combining economic, political and technological dimensions were welcome. Our national program committee as well as the international program committee has evaluated numerous scientific contributions. Outstanding papers will be published in the leading journals of the field.
But there will be a special emphasis on the involvement of EC firms and government bodies concerning with e-government too. To provide these links a business consortium supporting ICEC 2001 has been established. To find out how to participate in this consortium simply send a mail to the conference chair.

Of course, you were also kindly invited to use the opportunity for a broad range of touristic activities. Our professional conference organizer INTROPA is waiting for your requests. Vienna tourism, as one of our supporters provides additional information.

The conference site, part of the Vienna Hofburg, is one of the most attractive conference sites in Europe. Our conference there will be the core of a range of activities aiming at informing not only professionals but also a broader public.
